Draw result back to haunt Marseille

Six successive draws, that's just been experienced by Olympique Marseille after play goalless in Stade Velodrome versus Saint Etienne ( August 21, 2011 ). These results are a new record for Marseille in Ligue 1. Three draws in this season, plus three on last season add list of a draw was achieved by Marseille.

These results preclude Marseille to climb to the top Ligue 1 standings this season. Now, Marseille is still stuck in 12th place with three points from three games early. Previously, Marseille also failed to gain full points against Sochaux and Auxerre in the first and second game week. In these two games ended with the score of 2-2.

In this third match, Marseille appear more dominant over St Etienne. Didier Deschamps squad continues to suppress the visitor throughout the game. Unfortunately, poor finishing and bad luck make Marseille failed to scored. In fact, throughout the second half St Etienne continued to implement total defense strategy.
